Install and activate the plugin
Upload the VisionScaper zip in WordPress, activate it, and confirm the Settings link appears.
Before you start
- Make a backup of your site. See [wp-cron-backups-and-updates].
- Check [system-requirements].
- Have the plugin zip file ready. The readme names it
dreamscaper.zip. Your file may carry a version number in its name.
Steps
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
- Choose the VisionScaper zip file and click Install Now.
- Click Activate.
- Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins. Under VisionScaper you should see a Settings link. It opens Settings → VisionScaper.
- Open Settings → VisionScaper and fill in the basics. See [wordpress-settings-basics].
- Create your Designer and Hub pages. See [add-the-shortcodes-and-pages].
What activation sets up
- New database tables are created automatically when the plugin loads or upgrades (the changelog says this for version 2.42.0). You do not run anything yourself.
- Scheduled tasks register themselves. The main one runs every 5 minutes. See [wp-cron-backups-and-updates].
- Several new pages appear under Settings in the WordPress menu:
- VisionScaper
- VisionScaper Community
- VisionScaper Contractors (with a count of pending applications)
- VisionScaper Plans
- VisionScaper Entitlements
- VisionScaper Appearance
- VisionScaper Messaging
- VisionScaper Marketing
- VisionScaper AI Receptionist
- VisionScaper Terms
- VisionScaper Records
Tips
- Install over an older version to upgrade. Do not delete the old one first.
- Optional photo and material packs are uploaded later, from the Library packs area on the VisionScaper settings page.
If something goes wrong
- “Plugin could not be activated”. Check your PHP and WordPress versions.
- Upload fails because the file is too large. Ask your host to raise the upload limit, or upload the zip by FTP into
wp-content/pluginsand unzip it there. - You do not see the Settings pages. Only administrators (users who can manage options) see them.
