Hub Settings: groups, tabs and the search box

How the Hub Settings screen is organised into five groups and 17 tabs, how its search box works, and which article covers each tab.

Every Hub setting lives in Settings in the Contractor Hub menu. This article explains the parts that sit above all the tabs: the five groups, the tab buttons and the search box. It also lists which article covers each of your eight tabs, plus the other settings tabs in the same groups.

Before you start

  • You need an approved contractor account to see Settings.
  • Some tabs only show data your plan or role allows.

Search settings (search box at the top) Finds a setting by name and jumps to the tab, scrolls to it and highlights it for a moment. Matches the setting name, related words, the tab and the group. Old names also work (for example “Webhook”, “Purchasing”, “Canvass”). Type at least 2 letters, e.g. “tax”, “logo” or “deposit”, then press Enter or tap a result. Esc clears it. Placeholder text reads: Search settings: try “tax”, “logo”, “deposit”…. If nothing matches it says “No setting has that name. Try another word.”
Group buttons (row 1) Switch between five groups: Business, Prices and quotes, Money, Team, Messages and connections. Tap a group. It opens the first tab of that group. —
Tab buttons (row 2) The tabs inside the chosen group. Tap a tab. The row is hidden for a group with only one tab.

Steps

  1. Open the Hub and choose Settings.
  2. Either tap a group and then a tab, or type a name in Search settings and tap the result.
  3. The tab opens. If you searched, the matching setting scrolls into view and flashes.
  4. Edit what you need, then press that tab’s own save button. Each tab saves by itself; there is no single Save for the whole Settings area.

Tips

  • Searching is the fastest way to find something such as “Overhead (%)”.
  • Tab names with an emoji are the same tabs, just with a symbol.
  • Settings that change what you see (Show me & tools, Appearance) save as described on their own screens.

If something goes wrong

  • Search shows “No setting has that name.” Try a different word, such as “markup” instead of “price”.
  • A tab is missing. Your role or plan may hide it.
  • I cannot find a setting listed here. Use the group buttons and open each tab; search covers listed settings only.
