Customer form: every field

What each box on the Add customer / Edit customer form does and what to type.

Contractor Hub → Customers → Add customer (also the + quick-add menu, or Edit on a customer’s page). Anyone with the right to add or edit customers in the Hub can use it; crew roles only see it if the owner ticked the customer permissions (see the employee article).

This form creates or changes one customer: contact details, the main property address, where the lead came from, project wishes, access notes and extra contacts. The only required box is Full name. Everything else is optional and can be filled in later.

Before you start

  • Nothing else is needed. The Street box uses address suggestions; if suggestions do not appear, type the address by hand.

Steps

  1. Open Contractor Hub → Customers and press Add customer (or open a customer and press Edit).
  2. Type the Full name. This is the only required box.
  3. Add the phone and email, then start typing the Street and pick the suggestion so town, state and ZIP fill themselves.
  4. Choose the Stage and How they found you. New phone calls usually start as Potential customer.
  5. Fill in Project boxes if they told you what they want.
  6. Open More details and add gate codes, pets and hidden utilities. Crew see these on the job.
  7. Add any Other contacts, then Tags and Notes.
  8. Press Add customer (or Save customer). A short message says the customer was added or saved, and the customer page opens.

If something goes wrong

  • If the form shows a red message under the Save button, read it: it comes from the website (for example a plan limit on how many customers you can add).
  • If the Street suggestions do not appear, type the address in full including town and state.
  • The Property photo button does nothing if you cancel the file picker; press it again.
