Lead and request intake: Request sources
The boxes and buttons for bringing Angi, Thumbtack and similar requests into the Hub as customers marked as leads.
On this page
Contractor Hub → Request sources (address #/sales/lead-sources, listed under the Clients group). It needs a plan that includes request sources; if not, the page shows a See plans button.
Leads from services like Angi, Thumbtack or Google Local Services become customers marked as leads. Each source has its own secret address. You can also paste one request email into a box and check what VisionScaper can read before it adds anything. The layouts it reads are based on typical notification emails and are not checked against live ones.
Before you start
- Manual leads are simpler: add them with the Customer form and set Stage to Potential customer.
- No mailbox is read for you. You send or forward emails to the secret address yourself (or set your lead service to notify it).
Fields
Each source card
| Field (exact label) | What it does for VisionScaper | What to enter and example | Default / notes |
|---|---|---|---|
Secret address (keep it private) (url (read-only)) |
The unique address for this source. Anything that arrives there is read and turned into a request. Click to select it. | Copy it into the lead service’s “send notifications to” setting or a mail forwarding rule. | One per source |
| Copy address | Copies the address. | ||
| Make a new address | Creates a new secret address; the old one stops working at once (asks you to confirm). | Use if the address leaked. | |
Turn off / Turn on (active) |
Pauses or resumes a source without deleting it. | ||
| Test with a sample | Shows a sample email and what would be read. Nothing is added. |
Recent requests
| Field (exact label) | What it does for VisionScaper | What to enter and example | Default / notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Open customer | Opens the customer made from that request. | ||
| Try again | Shown on held requests; tries to add it again (for example after a plan limit changes). | ||
| Mark seen / Mark all seen | Clears the “new” badge. |
Paste a request email
| Field (exact label) | What it does for VisionScaper | What to enter and example | Default / notes |
|---|---|---|---|
Which service sent it? (id) |
Chooses which source’s reading rules to use. | Pick the service the email came from. Choices: One entry per source on the page. | First source |
The email (text) |
The whole request email or forwarded text. | Paste everything, including name, phone, address and message. | |
| Check it | Reads the text and shows Name, Phone, Email, Address, Service and Message as found, plus warnings. Nothing is added yet. | ||
| Add this request | Appears after a check; creates the customer (or updates one with the same phone or email so there is no duplicate). |
Steps
- Open Request sources.
- Copy the Secret address for the service you use and put it where that service sends lead emails.
- Press Test with a sample to see how a typical email is read. Nothing is added.
- When a real request arrives it appears under Recent requests with a “new” badge.
- If something arrived another way, choose the service in Which service sent it?, paste the email into The email, press Check it, read the result, then Add this request.
- Press Open customer and fill anything marked as missing.
If something goes wrong
- “Needs review” means a field such as phone was not found. Open the customer and add it.
- A held request means your plan limit stopped it. Press Try again after the limit is fixed.
- If the same email is pasted twice you get “You already added this email.”
