Plans page: billing switch, free trial and trial allowances
Turn contractor billing on, set the free trial length, trial plan, phone check and the smaller trial allowances.

Where: WordPress admin → Settings → VisionScaper Plans. Only a user who can manage options (an Administrator) sees it. This first block of the page controls whether contractors are billed at all, and how their one free trial works. Everything below the “Stripe setup” list on the page is a form that you save with Save plans.
Before you start
- To charge anyone you need Stripe keys. Add them under Settings → VisionScaper → Selling extra AI credits first (see [get-stripe-keys]). Without a Stripe secret key the page shows a yellow notice, and every approved contractor keeps full access for free.
- The phone check needs Twilio ([get-twilio-details]).

Every other feature of the trial plan is fully on during the trial. Only these two allowances are smaller, to protect AI costs. They rise to the paid plan’s full amounts when the paid plan starts.
Steps
- Open Settings → VisionScaper Plans.
- Make sure the Stripe warning notice is not showing. If it is, add your Stripe keys first.
- Set Free trial days and pick the trial plan.
- Tick or untick the phone verification box.
- Set the two trial allowances.
- Leave Turn on contractor billing unticked until you finish [plans-stripe-setup-and-save-buttons].
- Scroll to the bottom of the plan table and press Save plans. A green “Saved.” message confirms it.
Tips
- Each business gets only one free trial. VisionScaper remembers email, phone, card, Stripe customer, business name and town, address, license and account, so deleting an account or reinstalling does not reset it.
- Use Grant a second trial (exception) in the contractors list for a rare second trial ([plans-contractor-subscriptions-and-owner-actions]).
If something goes wrong
- Nothing seems to change: you must press Save plans; each field is only stored when the form is saved.
- Trial users lack a feature: check the trial plan’s column in the plan table.
- Texts never arrive: the phone check is skipped when Twilio is not ready.
