Settings → VisionScaper: Basics, emails and maps
Every field in the Basics block: your name, home region, notification email, email switches and map or routing keys.
On this page
Open the WordPress dashboard and go to Settings → VisionScaper. Only users who can manage options (administrators) see this page. The top of the page explains the two shortcodes: put [visionscaper] on the Designer page and [visionscaper mode="hub"] on the Contractor Hub page. Any link to #visionscaper, or any element with the attribute data-visionscaper-open, opens the app. This article covers the first block of the form: Basics, the three email switches, and the three map and routing fields.
Before you start
- An email address you check often.
- Optional: a Google Maps key (see get-google-maps-keys) and, only if you host one, an OSRM server address.
Fields
| Field (exact label) | What it does for VisionScaper | What to enter and example | Default / notes |
|---|---|---|---|
Business name brand |
Your business name. It is used as the business name on contractor CRM documents, in the terms text, and on the footer of shared design images (“Made with VisionScaper by …”). | Your company name, e.g. Green Row Landscaping. | text; default VisionScaper |
Home region (for plant advice) home_region |
The state used for plant advice and for address lookups when a visitor has not said where they are. Visitors who give a state get advice for their own state. | A US state name or abbreviation, e.g. Ohio or OH. | text; default Connecticut |
Short name (for “Send to …” button) short_brand |
A short form of your name. It is passed to the app as the short brand (the label on the send button) and used as the contact name in CRM documents. | A short name, e.g. Green Row. | text; default VisionScaper |
Website shown on saved images site |
Shown after the business name in the footer of saved/shared design images and used as the website in CRM documents. | Your web address without https://, e.g. greenrow.com. | text; default visionscaper.com |
Send designs and leads to notify_email |
The address that receives designs sent by customers, AI design emails, sign-up alerts, purchase alerts and community post/report alerts. If blank, those emails are not sent. | One email address you read often. | email; default (blank) |
Let customers send their finished design to you (“Send to VisionScaper”) share |
Turns the customer send-design button on or off. When off, the server refuses sends with “Sharing is turned off.” | Tick to allow, untick to stop. | checkbox; default on (1) |
Email me every VisionScaper AI design (before/after + customer details) ai_lead_email |
Emails the notify address each time a customer makes an AI design, with the customer’s name, email, phone and address. | Tick to receive them. Needs an address in Send designs and leads to. | checkbox; default on (1) |
Email me when someone creates an account notify_signup |
Emails the notify address when a new customer account is created (name, email, how they signed up). | Tick to receive them. Needs an address in Send designs and leads to. | checkbox; default on (1) |
Google Maps API key (optional) maps_key |
Turns on Google address autocomplete and Explore in 3D. Without it, addresses autocomplete from OpenStreetMap. The key is also used for the Route planner when no server key is set. | Paste the key. See get-google-maps-keys. Leave dots to keep the saved key. | password (secret); default (blank) |
Google server key for the Route planner (optional) maps_server_key |
A second Google key used on your server for driving distances and nearby restaurants and gas prices in the Route planner. If empty, the Maps key above is used. | Paste a key restricted to your server’s IP address. See get-google-maps-keys. | password (secret); default (blank) |
OSRM routing server (optional) osrm_url |
Address of an OSRM server you host, used for driving distances when no Google key is set. Must start with https:// or it is saved blank. With neither, the planner estimates road miles from straight-line distance. | e.g. https://osrm.example.com | text (URL); default (blank) |
Steps
- Go to Settings → VisionScaper.
- Under Basics, fill in Business name, Home region, Short name and Website, then Send designs and leads to.
- Under Emails to you, tick the emails you want.
- Optionally paste your Google keys or OSRM address (see table).
- Press Save Changes at the bottom of the form. Secret boxes show 12 dots when a value is saved. Leave the dots alone to keep the saved value. Type a new value to replace it. Check the “Settings saved” notice.
Tips
- Use a real inbox for Send designs and leads to. The three email switches and the purchase and community emails all depend on it.
- Keep the Maps key restricted to your website, as the page advises.
- Without any key, address autocomplete still works using OpenStreetMap.
If something goes wrong
- No emails arrive: check that Send designs and leads to is filled in and that the matching tick box is on. Also check your spam folder.
- OSRM address vanished after saving: it must start with https://. Anything else is saved blank.
- Autocomplete or 3D not Google-powered: confirm the key is saved and that the right Google services are enabled for it (see get-google-maps-keys).
