The two entry points: Designer and Contractor Hub
VisionScaper uses two pages on your site. One is the Designer for visitors, one is the Contractor Hub for contractors only.
VisionScaper has two separate front doors. You create one WordPress page for each.
Designer
- Shortcode:
[visionscaper] - Who: homeowners, designers, and anyone who wants to try a yard design.
- Launch card: a teal card with the label “Free yard design studio”, the title “VisionScaper Designer” and a button that says “Start designing”.
- No sign-in is needed to design. Signing in saves designs online and unlocks AI features.
Contractor Hub
- Shortcode:
[visionscaper mode="hub"](the shortcode[visionscaper_hub]does the same thing). - Who: contractors only.
- Launch card: label “For landscape contractors”, title “VisionScaper Contractor Hub”, button “Open the Contractor Hub”.
- Anyone can create an account from this page. A new contractor sends an application, and you approve it unless you switched on auto-approve. See [contractor-approval].
- The server, not only the screen, decides who can see Hub data. Someone who is not an approved contractor does not get it.
How the two connect
Approved contractors see a “Contractor Hub” link inside the Designer. Homeowners never do. When either page loads, VisionScaper remembers the page address so it can link between them.
Steps
- Create a WordPress page for the Designer and add
[visionscaper]. - Create a second page for the Hub and add
[visionscaper mode="hub"]. - Visit each page and click its button to confirm the app opens.
- Put links to both pages in your menu if you want visitors to find them.
Full details are in [add-the-shortcodes-and-pages].
Tips
- Give the Hub page a plain name such as “Contractor Hub”. Do not put homeowners’ links to it in your main menu unless you want contractors to find it easily.
- Any link to
#visionscaper, or any element with the attributedata-visionscaper-open, opens the app on the page where the shortcode is.
If something goes wrong
- The button does nothing. The page must contain the shortcode. A hash link only works on a page that has it.
- A contractor cannot get into the Hub. Their application may still be pending. Check Settings → VisionScaper Contractors.
- The Hub says contractor tools are off. Turn them on in Settings → VisionScaper under Contractors.
