System requirements

What your WordPress site needs before you install VisionScaper: versions, https, browsers and optional outside accounts.

Check these before you install.

What the plugin file says

Item Requirement (from the plugin header)
WordPress 6.0 or newer (“Requires at least: 6.0”)
PHP 7.4 or newer (“Requires PHP: 7.4”)
License GPLv2 or later

The readme lists WordPress 6.8 as the newest version it names as tested (not verified by us).

Your site

  • Use https. The live camera only works when the page loads over https. If the camera is unavailable, the app falls back to the phone’s photo picker.
  • Use a normal WordPress install where you can upload a plugin zip (Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin).
  • Scheduled tasks must run. Follow-ups, reminders and other sends use WP-Cron. See [wp-cron-backups-and-updates].
  • Outgoing email. Notifications use your site’s mail. If your site cannot send mail, install an SMTP plugin. (Marketing sending has a setting for “This website’s own mail (your SMTP plugin)”.)
  • Caching and minify plugins need two exclusions. See [caching-and-minify-exclusions].

Visitors’ browsers

The app is built from JavaScript modules, so visitors need a current browser. Voice search works in Chrome, Edge and Safari according to the readme. Designs are kept in the visitor’s browser storage, so clearing browser data deletes designs that are not saved to an account.

Optional outside accounts

None of these are needed to install. Add them only for the feature you want. Follow each provider’s current sign-up instructions.

Tips

  • Pick a host that lets you raise the PHP version if yours is below 7.4.
  • Back up your site before you install. See [wp-cron-backups-and-updates].

If something goes wrong

If WordPress will not activate the plugin, check the PHP version first. It is the most common cause.
