The selection bar, selecting many items and layers
Use the floating bar to turn, flip, copy, remove or finish; select several items with a box; lock, hide and arrange things in Layers.
On this page
Whenever you select something, a small bar floats over the picture so the common actions are one tap away.
The selection bar
With one plant or feature selected, the bar shows:
- Turn (left), Turn (right): each turns 15 degrees.
- Flip: faces it the other way.
- Copy: makes a copy beside it, facing the other way.
- Remove: takes it out of the picture.
- A big green Done button that deselects everything.
If the item is locked the bar shows “Locked” and Done only. With several items selected, it shows Copy and Remove. With a bed or patio selected it shows Remove. On a small screen the bar sits pinned at the bottom.
Tapping empty space or pressing Esc also deselects.
Steps: select many
- Use the Move tool.
- Drag a box on an empty part of the picture to select everything inside it. Or Shift-click items to add or remove them one by one.
- The panel says “[n] items selected” and tells you the count of plants/features and shapes.
- Drag any selected item to move them all together. Arrow keys nudge them (hold Shift to go farther).
- Tap Duplicate all, Delete all or Clear selection.
- If the view has more than one layer, tap a layer name under Move to layer to move the selected items there.
On touch screens, the Move panel has a checkbox: “On touch screens: one-finger drag selects (instead of panning)”.
You can also right-click (or long-press) an item to get a menu with Select this item’s pixels, Select similar items, Duplicate and Delete. Select similar items selects every placed copy of the same plant.
Layers
Tap Layers in the top bar. The window lets you design in layers such as “Existing”, “Phase 1” and “Lighting”.
- + Add a layer and name it. New things go on the active layer, marked with a dot.
- For each layer: show or hide (eye), lock, rename, move up or down, delete (its items are kept).
- Below that, the photo (Hold for original), ground shapes, plants and features grouped by type, and measurements. Each row can be shown, hidden, locked, renamed, moved forward or back, or removed. Use the drop-down on a row to move it to another layer.
Tips
- Hide a layer to compare plans.
- Lock finished items so you do not move them by accident.
If something goes wrong
- The bar does not appear: it shows only with the Move or Add tool.
- An item will not select: unlock it in Layers.
- Dragging pans instead of selecting on a touch screen: switch on the one-finger select checkbox.
