Connect your Stripe account
Contractors connect a Stripe Express account so customers can pay invoices by card or bank.
Customers’ money goes straight to your own Stripe account. You set this up once.
Before you start
- The website owner must already have set up Stripe. If not, you see “Online payments aren’t set up on this website yet.” See “Set up Stripe for your site”.
- Have your business details, a bank account for payouts and a way to prove who you are ready. Stripe asks for them.
Steps
- In the Hub, open Settings. In the Money group, choose Get paid online. (You can also reach it from the item Payments setup.)
- Read the rates note. It shows what card and bank payments cost with a $1,000 example.
- Tap Connect with Stripe.
- You go to Stripe. Follow Stripe’s current instructions to finish the form.
- Stripe sends you back to the Hub.
- If the button now says Finish Stripe setup, Stripe still needs something. Tap it to continue.
- Tap Check status. You want to see “✅ Ready to take payments.”
What VisionScaper asks Stripe for
It creates an Express account for a US business, with your business name, email, website and the code for landscaping services. It asks for three abilities: card payments, bank (ACH) payments and transfers.
“Ready” means Stripe has turned on charges and you have submitted your details. VisionScaper learns about changes through the account.updated message, and it also checks when you tap Check status.
After you are ready
- The button changes to Update my Stripe details, and Open my Stripe account opens your Stripe dashboard.
- The invoice editor stops showing the tip about connecting Stripe.
- Customers see pay buttons on your invoices.
- Payouts reach your bank in about 2 business days.
Tips
- Use the same business name in Stripe and in your Business profile.
- Check your Stripe dashboard for payouts and refunds.
If something goes wrong
- “Online payments aren’t set up on this site yet.” Ask the website owner.
- Still “⏳ Stripe still needs some details.” Tap Finish Stripe setup again and fill in what Stripe lists.
- A customer sees “This contractor is still setting up online payments.” Your account is not ready yet.
