Email providers (Postmark, Resend, SendGrid, Amazon SES, site mail)
Choose how VisionScaper sends marketing and system email, and where each provider's key goes.
VisionScaper can send email through your website’s own mail or through a delivery service. Marketing email and the Messaging page use separate screens.
Before you start
- An account with the provider you pick.
- A sending domain with the provider’s DNS records added (DKIM and return-path). The Marketing page also mentions publishing a DMARC record, which Gmail and Yahoo require for bulk mail.
- Follow each provider’s current instructions.
Steps for Postmark (marketing email)
- Open Settings → VisionScaper Marketing.
- Under Email service, choose Postmark (recommended).
- Paste the Postmark Server API token.
- Enter the Broadcast stream ID (usually
broadcast). - Enter Send from address. It must be verified in Postmark.
- Set Sender name.
{company_name}becomes each contractor’s business name. - Copy the Postmark webhook address into Postmark’s Broadcast stream webhooks. Tick Delivery, Bounce, Spam Complaint and Subscription Change.
- Press Save & send me a test email.
Steps for the other providers
- Open Settings → VisionScaper Messaging, section Email.
- In Email service, pick Resend, SendGrid, or Amazon SES. Or keep “Use the one in Marketing settings”.
- Paste the matching boxes:
– Resend key, Resend webhook secret.
– SendGrid key, SendGrid webhook secret.
– Amazon access key, Amazon secret key, Amazon webhook secret, and Amazon region (likeus-east-1). - Press Save.
Using the site’s own mail
Choose This website’s own mail (your SMTP plugin) on the Marketing page. It is fine for tests and small lists. It has no bounce handling, and many mailboxes limit daily sending.
Tips
- Send a test email each time you change a key.
- Dependable sending needs scheduled jobs to run. The Marketing page shows a health line and warns if they are not.
- Costs per email on those pages are numbers you set for reporting. They are placeholders until you edit them.
If something goes wrong
- Test email not received: check spam, then the verified sender and DNS records.
- “Scheduled sending isn’t running regularly”: see Cron, caching, SSL and REST troubleshooting.
- Webhook events rejected: the webhook secret does not match.
