My Calendar and Messages for homeowners

See every appointment contractors book with you, confirm or ask for a new time, subscribe in your own calendar, and use Messages.

Two places keep you in touch with contractors: My Calendar (inside My Projects) and Messages.

My Calendar

When a contractor books a site visit, estimate or job day with you, it lands here by itself. They also remind you before it, on the schedule they set.

Steps: respond to an appointment

  1. Open My Projects, then My Calendar (the Coming up section links to it with “See all on My Calendar”).
  2. Appointments are grouped by day. Each shows the type, project, time, contractor with a phone link, and location.
  3. The status reads Please confirm, You confirmed, You asked for a new time, Done or Cancelled.
  4. Tap ✅ Confirm. The contractor is told.
  5. Or tap 🔁 Ask for another time, type a note (for example “Any weekday after 3 pm works”), and tap Send. Your appointment stays on the calendar until the contractor changes it.
  6. Tap 📅 Add to my calendar and choose Google Calendar or Apple / Outlook (.ics file) to add one appointment.

Past appointments are listed under Past appointments (collapsed).

Steps: subscribe once

  1. In My Calendar, tap the update-from-calendar button near the top (labelled “Update from calendar”).
  2. Choose Apple Calendar / Outlook or Google Calendar, or copy the private link into any calendar app (Subscribe or From URL).
  3. Every appointment and every change then shows in your calendar app.

Warning: anyone with that link can see your appointment times. If you shared it by mistake, choose Make a new private link and confirm. The old link stops working.

Messages

Messages holds every conversation: you and a contractor about a project, and you and other community members.

Steps

  1. From the front screen tap Messages (subtitle “Contractors & members”). A dot shows unread conversations.
  2. Use the filters: All, Unread, Contractors, Members, Projects, Archived.
  3. Use Search messages to find one.
  4. Open a conversation and type in Write a message…. You can add up to 5 photos per message.
  5. Project conversations show the address, next appointment and quote at the top.

In a conversation, open the menu (the three dots) for Mute alerts, Archive and Mark unread. An archived conversation comes back when a new message arrives. Closed project conversations reopen if the other person writes again.

Tips

  • Requests you send from Find a Local Contractor open a conversation with each contractor automatically.
  • You cannot message a member who blocked you, and brand-new accounts cannot send links to strangers. Describe the link instead.
  • If you send many messages quickly you will be asked to wait (120 messages an hour).

If something goes wrong

  • “Sign in to see your messages.” Sign in first.
  • No appointment appears: the contractor may not have booked it in VisionScaper. Ask them in Messages.
  • A reminder never came: the contractor sets reminder rules and channels, and texts need their plan and setup. See [faq-messaging].
