Entitlements page: give one account a feature or take it away
Set a single contractor account override for a switch or limit, with an end date and a required reason, and clear it.
On this page
Where: Settings → VisionScaper Entitlements → Give one account a feature (or take it away), and the overrides table beneath it. Administrators only. An override replaces the plan’s value for one contractor and one feature. It does not change the plan. Use it for goodwill, a trial of a feature, or to remove one.
Before you start
You need the contractor’s WordPress user id (the number in the user’s edit link). Overrides do not apply to the site-owner account or when billing is off, because those are already unlimited.
Fields
| Field (exact label) | What it does | What to enter and example | Default / notes |
|---|---|---|---|
Contractor user id (ent[org]) |
The account the override applies to. Must be an existing contractor. | Number, e.g. 42. | Required. |
Entitlement (ent[key]) |
The feature or limit. The list holds every switch, limit and metered row, shown as “Name (id)”. Built-in and planned rows are not listed. | Pick one. | First in list. |
Value (1/0 for a switch, or a limit; -1 = unlimited) (ent[value]) |
1 turns a switch on, 0 off. For a limit, a number, or -1 for unlimited. 0 on a limit removes it. | e.g. 1, 0, 500, -1. | 1. |
For how many days (empty = until cleared) (ent[days]) |
Makes the override expire after that many days. Empty keeps it until you clear it. | Whole number from 1, or empty. | Empty. |
Reason (required) (ent[reason]) |
Stored with the override and in the audit log. | e.g. “Goodwill after outage”. | Required. |
| Save override | Saves it (replacing an earlier override for the same account and feature). | Press once. | |
| Clear (button at the end of each row in the table) | Deletes that override immediately and writes an “override_clear” audit line. | Press on the row. |
The overrides table (latest 50) shows Account, Entitlement, Value, Ends (“until cleared” or a date), Reason.
Steps
- Enter the user id and choose the entitlement.
- Set the value and, if wanted, the days.
- Type the reason and press Save override.
- Check the table for the new row and the audit log for “override_set”.
- To undo, press Clear on the row.
If something goes wrong
- “Choose a contractor account and give a reason.” The id is not a contractor or the reason is empty.
- “That entitlement can’t be overridden.” Built-in and planned rows cannot be.
- The customer still sees the old limit: the override may have expired, or the account is the owner.
