Expo access token for the phone app
Push notifications go through Expo. You only need an access token if Expo's enhanced push security is on.
The VisionScaper phone app signs in with each person’s own account, so there is nothing to set up for sign-in. Push notifications are sent through Expo’s push service, which delivers to iPhones (Apple APNs) and Android phones (Google FCM).
Before you start
- Decide whether your Expo project has enhanced push security turned on. If it is off, leave the token blank.
Steps
- In your Expo account, create an access token. The screen says: expo.dev → Account settings → Access tokens. Follow Expo’s current instructions.
- In WordPress admin, open Settings → VisionScaper.
- Find the Mobile app (push notifications) section.
- Paste the token into Expo access token (optional).
- Press Save Changes.
When a token is saved, VisionScaper sends it as a Bearer authorization header with each push request. With no token, requests go without it.
Other phone-app switches in the same section
These are tick boxes on the same screen. They all start off.
– Voice-note summaries. Lets the phone app summarise dictated notes with AI. Uses your fal.ai key. Each summary is one AI call. The screen states 200 a day per business, and a person accepts every suggestion.
– Estimate from a recorded walk. Turns a dictated property walk into a DRAFT quote with AI. Uses your fal.ai key. Only typed or dictated text goes out, with emails and phone numbers removed. The screen states up to 30 a day and 3 tries per walk. Prices always come from your rates and a person reviews every line.
– Automatic payments (autopay). Lets customers save a card or bank account with Stripe and invoices marked autopay charge it on the due date. Nothing is charged while it is off.
Tips
- Push messages are sent in batches of 100.
- If a phone is no longer registered, VisionScaper clears its stored push token, so it is not tried again.
- Treat the token like a password.
If something goes wrong
- No pushes at all: check the phone has allowed notifications, and that the person is signed in on the app.
- Pushes fail with an authorization error: your Expo project needs a token, so paste one in.
- A token was pasted by mistake: tick the clear option or paste the correct value. Leaving the dots keeps the old one.
