AI credits, storage packs and the shop
How free and bought AI credits work, how online storage works, and how the site owner sets up the Stripe-powered shop.
VisionScaper has a small shop on your website for two things: extra AI credits and extra online storage. Customers pay on Stripe’s secure checkout page.
Warning: pack names, sizes, prices, the per-credit price, and the free daily and storage amounts in the code are unapproved placeholders. Set your own before launch.
How credits work (for customers)
- Each AI image change uses one credit. Placing plants, painting ground, drawing beds and changing the season never use the image AI. The settings note says Smart Select and Identify are free.
- Customers get free credits each day. When those run out they can buy more. Bought credits never expire and are used after the free ones.
- If the person belongs to a contractor plan with monthly AI credits, the order is free daily credits first, then plan credits, then bought credits.
- Administrators can be set to unlimited.
Steps: buy credits
- Sign in. A signed-out visitor sees “Sign in to use and buy AI credits.”
- Open My Account and tap Get more next to AI credits, or tap the buy prompt when you run out. The prompt also says “This uses 1 AI credit” before a paid change.
- Pick a pack under Credit packs (one is marked Best value), or use Or choose exactly how many and type a Number of credits.
- You are sent to Stripe’s page (“Opening secure checkout…”). Pay.
- You return to VisionScaper and the credits are added. If you cancel you will see “Purchase cancelled — you weren’t charged.”
If buying is off you will see “Buying extra credits isn’t available yet — your free credits refill every day.”
Storage (for customers)
Signed-in customers get free online storage for their designs and library (plants from Plant ID, their own photos). The My storage screen shows used and total space. Typical sizes are shown: a Plant ID plant is about 0.2 to 0.5 MB, a design about 1 to 4 MB, an AI design about 0.5 MB.
To add more space, choose Add more storage — one-time, never expires, pick a pack, and pay on Stripe. You can also delete designs you no longer need from My designs.
Setup (for the site owner)
All of this is in Settings → VisionScaper.
1. In AI, add your image AI key (Black Forest Labs), your fal.ai key and, for plant identification, your Pl@ntNet key. Follow each provider’s current sign-up instructions. Set AI image generations per customer per day.
2. In Selling extra AI credits, create a Stripe account and finish its business details, copy the secret key from Stripe’s developer area into Stripe secret key. Use a test key first if you want to try it.
3. In Stripe, add a webhook endpoint at the URL shown on this page, for the event checkout.session.completed, and paste Stripe’s signing secret into Stripe webhook signing secret. Follow Stripe’s current instructions for those screens.
4. Tick Let customers buy extra AI credits. Optionally tick Email me about each purchase.
5. Under Credit packs, write one pack per line as Name | credits | price in dollars (up to 4 packs look best).
6. Set Price per single credit ($) (0 means packs only) and Minimum custom purchase (credits).
7. For storage, scroll to Selling extra library storage, tick Let customers buy extra storage, and fill Storage packs, one per line: Name | megabytes | price in dollars (1 GB = 1024 MB). The free amount per customer is Online storage per customer (MB) under Customer accounts.
8. Save.
Credits are also confirmed when the customer returns to your site, so a missed webhook does not lose a purchase. The smallest purchase Stripe will take here is $0.50.
Tips
- Each purchase is logged against the customer (the last 50 are kept).
- Buying is also paused for contractors in the “payments overdue: restricted” stage if you left that option on.
If something goes wrong
- “Please wait a bit and try again.” More than 20 purchase attempts in an hour.
- Credits did not arrive: see [troubleshooting-rest-errors-and-stripe-webhooks].
