The Contractors admin page: approve, suspend or reject
Review contractor applications, check licence and insurance, and approve, suspend or reject each business.
Settings → VisionScaper Contractors is where you decide who gets the Contractor Hub and who is listed under Find a Local Contractor.
Before you start
- The Contractor tools must be on. If not, a yellow notice links you to Settings → VisionScaper → Contractors, where you tick Turn on the Contractor Hub, Find a Local Contractor and My Projects.
- A contractor applies from My Account → Become a VisionScaper contractor (the form button is Create my contractor account for new people). They also tick the Terms of Service.
- The menu item shows a red count of applications waiting.
- By default you approve each one yourself. The setting Approve contractor applications automatically (not recommended) skips that. Leave it off if you want to check people first.
Steps: review an application
- Open Settings → VisionScaper Contractors.
- The table lists businesses with pending ones first, then approved, suspended and rejected.
- Read each row:
– Business: logo, name, website, short bio.
– Contact: name, phone, email.
– Area: town, state, service radius in miles and services offered.
– License / insurance: the licence text they gave (or “none given”), “Insured ✔” or “not insured”, and years in business.
– Activity: quotes sent, signed, jobs done, and star rating.
– Status with the application date. - Check their licence and insurance with the issuing authority before approving. VisionScaper does not do that check for you.
Steps: decide
Click one of the buttons in the last column:
– Approve: the status becomes Approved. The contractor gets an email “You’re approved as a VisionScaper contractor” with a link to the Hub, an in-app message, and they appear under Find a Local Contractor.
– Reject: the status becomes Rejected. They get an email titled “Your VisionScaper contractor application” saying you cannot approve them right now. Rejecting is how you decline.
– Suspend: shown for approved contractors. It sets their status to Suspended. Nothing is deleted.
You will see “Saved.” A button for the current status is hidden. Your own administrator account is always approved and has no buttons.
What approval gives
Approved contractors get customers and properties, the 2D site plan, takeoff and estimates, two quotes (job cost and customer proposal), e-signature, email and text follow-ups, scheduling, job costing and invoices. Homeowners can then find them and request quotes.
Tips
- Billing and plans are separate. See [plans-admin-page].
- Add a short reason in your own notes for a rejection. The email is brief and polite.
- A pending badge disappearing means nobody is waiting.
If something goes wrong
- “No applications yet.” Nobody applied.
- A contractor says they cannot see the Hub: check their status is Approved and that the Contractor tools are on.
- Emails not arriving: see [troubleshooting-texts-and-email].
