First-run guide, sample data and tutorial
Use the six-step Get started guide in the Hub, try sample data, and open the designer tutorial and step bar.
The Get started guide (Contractor Hub)
New contractor businesses see a Get started card on Today with a progress bar, the next step and a Continue button. Hide for now hides it. You can also open it from Settings → Business profile → Open the Get started guide.
There are six steps, each with its own button:

Each step shows Done, Skipped or To do.
Try with sample data
On the guide, Try with sample data adds clearly labeled [Sample] customers, quotes, visits, invoices and tasks. Nothing is sent to them. A banner on Today reads “You are looking at sample data.”
To remove it: Remove all sample data, then Yes, remove the sample data. It removes only what sample data made. If you attached something real to a sample record, that record is kept and becomes yours.
The designer tutorial
In the Designer, open How VisionScaper works. It has 15 topics with Back and Next buttons: What is VisionScaper, the 4 simple steps, getting a great photo, scale and perspective, adding plants, mulch/stone/lawn/beds, erasing, history and undo, seasons and growth, VisionScaper AI, AI tools, Plant ID, saving and sharing, the community and rewards, and tips.
In the editor, a step-by-step guide bar shows five steps: Set the scale, Add plants, Add mulch/stone or a bed, Watch it grow, Save/share/send. Buttons: Show me, Next step, a ? for help and a close button. You can bring it back with the ? button.
Steps
- Open the Hub and find the Get started card on Today.
- Click Continue and finish each step, or skip.
- Try sample data if you want a safe look around.
- Remove sample data before you enter real customers.
Tips
- Do the business step first. It feeds quotes and invoices.
- Send the test quote to yourself before a real customer.
If something goes wrong
- No Get started card. It shows for businesses created after the guide existed, or you hid it. Use Settings.
- Test email did not arrive. Check spam and your site’s mail setup.
