Plans, billing, credits and usage (“Current plan”)

How the Hub's plan page works: free trial, choosing a plan, usage bars, AI credits, failed payments, exports, and the owner's plan tools.

In the Hub, the last menu group (Settings & Integrations) has an item that reads Upgrade plan while a higher plan exists, and Current plan on the highest plan or when nothing is billed. It opens your plan page.

Warning: Plan names, prices, allowances and which features each plan includes are unapproved placeholders until the site owner sets them. This article describes how the screens work, not what anything costs.

If billing is off

The page says “Everything is included”. Billing isn’t switched on, so you have the full Contractor Hub at no charge. You still get the Export your records card.

If billing is on

  • Free trial. Start a trial by verifying your email (and phone by text when texting is set up) and adding a card. The card is not charged until the trial ends. The page says it reminds you a week before and the day before. A top banner shows days left. A business that has already had a trial may not get a second.
  • Choose a plan. Toggle Monthly or Yearly. Click Choose [plan] to go to Stripe’s secure checkout, or Switch to [plan] to change. Stripe works out the difference for the rest of the period. A downgrade starts at the end of the paid period.
  • Card, invoices & receipts opens Stripe’s portal. Cancel subscription ends it at the period end. Keep my subscription undoes that.
  • Your usage. Bars for employees, crews, AI credits, landscape plans per month, storage and more. Monthly allowances start again on the 1st. Reaching a limit never deletes anything. It only stops new additions. When AI credits run out you can also buy a credit pack. A Recent usage list shows the ledger.
  • Compare plans. A matrix and a “Not sure which plan?” quiz help you choose.
  • Export your records. Download Customers, Properties, Quotes, Invoices, Schedule and Activity log as spreadsheets any time, even if paused or cancelled.

When a payment fails

The stages are: notice, reminder, restricted, read-only, then suspended. The days are set by the site owner. Everything stays safe, and paying restores everything instantly. When restricted, AI, new landscape plans, buying credits or storage, and large uploads pause. When read-only you can view, export and pay, and you are hidden from new homeowners. A suspended account shows “Suspended – Payment Required” with a button to update the payment method.

For the site owner

  • Settings → VisionScaper Plans: turn on contractor billing, set trial length and the plan for the trial, edit plans, set the failed-payment days, and see contractors’ status. Click “Create these plans in Stripe”. Add the subscription webhook events the page lists.
  • Settings → VisionScaper Entitlements: the Plan matrix, Prices & upgrade destination, and “Give one account a feature (or take it away)” with a reason that is recorded.
  • View as customer (administrators only): preview the Hub as a no-plan sign-up, trial, any paid plan, overdue, suspended or ended. Nothing changes for the account.

Tips

  • Check usage bars before a busy month.
  • Add Stripe keys first. See [selling-credits-and-storage].

If something goes wrong

  • Choose button disabled. The plan may not be purchasable yet (“Not available yet”).
  • A feature shows a lock. It is not in your plan. The preview offers “See plans”.
