Settings: Price book

Set your supplier costs and production rates for the items the automatic estimate uses, or reset to defaults.

Path: Settings → Prices and quotes → Price book. Your supplier prices and production rates. Every number feeds the automatic estimate (takeoff).

Warning: Starting numbers are placeholders, not approved. Replace them with your real costs.

What is in it

Each item is a collapsible row. Items include: Mulch, Decorative stone, New bed (turf removal & soil prep), Edging, Sod, Seed, Pavers, Gravel path, Retaining wall, Plants, Removals, Boulders, Landscape lighting, Fence, Grading, Delivery and Final cleanup. (Your version may show a slightly different list.)

Inside an item you will see boxes such as:

  • Cost per unit ($)
  • Waste / overage (%)
  • Hours per unit
  • Prep hours per 100 sq ft
  • Cost per sq ft ($)
  • Hours per sq ft
  • Cost per block ($) and Cost per cap ($)
  • Hours per face sq ft
  • Fixture cost ($) and Transformer cost ($)

Some items hold pairs, like “steel: 3.25, 0.06”, which mean cost per foot then hours per foot.

Steps

  1. Open Price book.
  2. Click an item to expand it.
  3. Type your supplier price and the hours your crew needs per unit.
  4. Repeat for the items you sell.
  5. Click Save price book.

To go back, click Reset to defaults and confirm “Reset the whole price book to VisionScaper defaults?”.

Tips

  • Only items you change are stored as your own. The rest follow the defaults.
  • Update prices when your supplier updates theirs.
  • Time one real job to learn real hours per unit.
  • Search for “mulch”, “pavers” or “sod” to jump here.

If something goes wrong

  • A number reverts. Click Save price book after editing.
  • Estimates look odd. Check Waste / overage and the hours.
  • Reset removed my numbers. Reset replaces all your own values. It cannot be undone.
