Taking training in My work (for employees)
What an employee sees in My work Training: assigned courses, quizzes, practical work, certificates, talks and procedures.
Employees do their training in My work, the crew’s phone app, with their own sign-in. You can share these steps with your crew.
Before you start
Your manager must assign you a course. When they do, it shows under My training. Until then you see “Nothing has been assigned to you yet.”
Steps: finish a course
- Open My work and tap the Training tab.
- Under My training, tap a course. Overdue ones are first.
- Work through Steps in this course. A step can be read, watched, ticked as a checklist, or answered as a quiz. Some are practical.
- Videos must be played in the app for the website to count the time. If a step says it points to a video on another website, ask your manager to upload it.
- Quiz: tap Start the quiz and Send my answers. You may get a result at once, or “Your answers are with your trainer.”
- Practical work: describe what you did under What did you do? and add a picture or PDF. A picture can be required. Tap Hand in my work. Your trainer looks at it.
- Acknowledgment steps: tap I have read this or Acknowledge. It records that you read it, with the date. It is not a legal signature.
- Tap Finish course. The course is finished when every required step is done. You see “Course finished. Well done!”
Certificates
If the course gives one, you can open Certificate. There is a link that anyone can use to check it. If it needs approval, a manager approves first. Some certificates show “Needs renewing” when due.
Other parts
- Toolbox talk: tap Sign me in to be counted at today’s talk or tailgate meeting.
- Procedures: search and read, and acknowledge new versions.
- My record: your training record, and you can download your data.
- Leaderboard: shows only if your company turned it on and you joined.
- I would like my training in: choose a language. If a course is not translated, you see the original with a note.
- Ratings: after a course you can give stars and a comment.
Tips
- Use a good signal for videos, then your phone can sync progress.
- If a quiz says “You have no tries left. Ask your manager.”, your manager can allow one more attempt.
If something goes wrong
- “This course has no steps yet.” Tell your manager.
- A step is missing its video. Say so. The screen asks you to tell your manager.
