Door-to-door canvassing

Mark every house you knock on a map, record what happened, set follow-ups and turn "Wants a quote" into a lead.

Door-to-door is a map where you mark each house you visit and what happened. It is for contractors only. Houses belong to your business and are never shown to homeowners or other contractors. Open it from Schedule & Field, Door-to-door (subtitle “Map every house you knock”).

The screen

Buttons: Where am I, List, Follow-ups due, Export. Filter chips show a count for each result. Pins are coloured by result. A small guide on the map says: tap a house; tap what happened at the door, then save; red pins mean “don’t knock”.

What can happen at a door

Extra tick boxes: Flyer / door hanger left, Business card given, Spoke to the owner, Renter / tenant, HOA neighborhood, Needs lawn care, Beds / mulch need work, Hardscape opportunity, Tree work needed, Snow removal prospect.

Steps: log a knock

  1. Tap Where am I, or zoom to the street.
  2. Tap the house on the map. The address is looked up.
  3. Tap what happened. A follow-up date fills in for some results (interested, call back, quote, flyer, talked).
  4. Add Name, Phone and Email if you got them.
  5. Add notes, for example “needs mulch, dog in yard”.
  6. Tick any extras.
  7. Tap Save this visit.

Follow-ups

Tap Follow-ups due to list houses whose date is today or past. A bell ring marks pins due by tomorrow.

Safety rules built in

  • Do not come back and No soliciting sign show a red warning if you tap the house again, and never get a follow-up date.
  • A house is never saved twice on one door.
  • A knock logged with a poor connection is saved once, even if it retries.

Turn a quote request into a lead

When you save Wants a quote with a name and a way to reach them, the house becomes a customer lead automatically on the website. You see “Added to your customers as a lead.” The phone app shows a duplicate check first.

Tips

  • Use Export to download your list as a file.
  • Filter to one result to plan your return visits.

If something goes wrong

  • “Tap the house on the map first.” You tried to save without a location.
  • “Someone else changed this house.” Reload it and try again.
