Training: build, publish and assign courses

Create courses with steps and quizzes, publish numbered versions, assign them to people and handle work to check.

Training is the owner’s and managers’ side of employee learning. Employees take courses in My work.

Where to find it

Hub left menu, group Team & Training, then Training. You need the right to create, publish and assign training, or to review practical work.

Steps: make a course

  1. Open Courses. Start from a template under Starter templates (Use as a draft) or make a New course.
  2. Add a title, description, category, difficulty and time it takes.
  3. Add sections and steps. Step kinds are Reading, Video, Audio, Picture, PDF, Other file, Link, Checklist, Quiz, Survey, Practical task and Acknowledgment.
  4. Quiz question kinds are One right answer, Several right answers, True or false, Put in order, Match pairs, and a Written answer that a person grades. Each can show an explanation afterwards. You set the Pass mark (%), tries and waiting time.
  5. For a video, upload the file here. A video on another website cannot be tracked. You set the share that must be watched (%). Captions (.vtt) can be attached.
  6. Optional: Give a certificate when finished, a title, Certificate expires after (days) and A manager approves each certificate first.
  7. Tap Save draft, then Publish this course.

Publishing makes a numbered version that never changes. People who started a version keep it. Use Publish a new version later, and optionally ask earlier finishers to take it again.

Steps: assign

  1. Open the published course and tap Assign.
  2. Pick at least one person, and optional start and due dates.
  3. People who already have the course are skipped.

Work to check

To check lists quiz answers and practical tasks waiting for you. Give marks, add a note, then Save grades, Approve, or Send back to redo. You can allow one more attempt.

Other tabs

Talks (toolbox talks and tailgate meetings with attendance), Library (procedures and files), New hires (checklists), People (skills and roles), and Settings (automatic assignment, pause all reminders).

Tips

  • Course Archive hides it but keeps every record.
  • A translation can be linked so employees who pick a language are offered it.

If something goes wrong

  • “Give the course a title first.” Add a title.
  • Not saved. The builder shows the reason and offers Save again.
