Get ready to text (A2P 10DLC)
Fill in the three-step form so your business can be approved to send texts.
On this page
In the US, mobile carriers want to know who is sending business texts. VisionScaper has a short form for this, called Get ready to text. It takes about five minutes.
Before you start
Have these ready:
- The legal name of your business.
- Your 9-digit tax ID (EIN), like 12-3456789.
- Your website address, starting with https://.
- Your business street address.
- An email address the carriers can reach.
Steps
- Go to Marketing → Safety and find 📶 Get ready to text. The status shows Not sent yet.
- Click Start (or Continue if you already began).
- Step 1 of 3: Your business. Enter Legal business name, Tax ID (EIN), Website, the address, and the contact email. Click Next.
- Step 2 of 3: Your texts. Choose What will you text about?:
– Updates about visits, quotes and invoices
– Updates and offers
– Offers and promotions - Under How do customers say yes to texts?, write one or two sentences (at least 30 characters). For example, say customers tick a box on your request form or sign a quote.
- Write a sample text (at least 20 characters). It must include “Reply STOP to opt out.”
- Step 3 of 3: Review and send. Check everything and click Send to the carriers.
Your EIN is shown with only the last four digits afterwards.
What happens next
The status changes to With the carriers. The page says carriers usually answer in a few days.
Important: the code states the carrier registration API is not connected. VisionScaper records your details, and the site administrator records the answer in Settings → VisionScaper Messaging, under Businesses waiting for text approval, by choosing Approved by carriers or Rejected (with a reason). The administrator should still register with the text provider (for example in Twilio’s Console) using the provider’s own process.
When the answer is recorded, your status shows Approved, or Needs changes with the reason. After Needs changes, click Fix and send again.
Tips
- If the site turns on “Only let a business text after its ‘Get ready to text’ details are approved”, texting stays off until you are Approved. Without it, doing the form now still avoids blocked texts later.
- Keep your sample text honest and close to what you really send.
If something goes wrong
- A red message under a field tells you what to fix, for example “Enter the 9-digit tax ID (EIN)”.
- Held texts show “Texting isn’t approved yet (finish “Get ready to text” in Marketing → Safety)”.
