Find a Local Contractor and Request quotes
Search contractors near you, add several to one request, answer the guided brief, and send it for quotes.
Find a Local Contractor lists approved landscapers who work in VisionScaper. Request quotes sends one guided brief to as many of them as you choose.
Before you start
- You need a free account to send a request.
- If no contractors appear, the site owner may not have approved any yet (see [contractors-admin]).
Steps: find contractors
- Tap Find a Local Contractor on the front screen.
- Enter your town or ZIP. Optionally type a business name.
- Choose a service chip (the first is Everything) and a sort: Nearest, Top rated or Best Dream-to-Reality.
- Tap Search.
- Each card shows reviews, jobs done, Licensed, Insured, Pay online and some services. Cards say “New on VisionScaper” if there are no reviews yet.
Dream-to-Reality is a score past customers give for how closely the finished yard matched their design.
Tap a card for the contractor’s profile: scores, star bars, work gallery, About, designs they made real (before, design, finished), and reviews with replies. From a profile you can Request a quote, add them to your request, Call, open their Website, or Message. A contractor not taking requests shows “Not taking new requests right now”.
Steps: build one request for several contractors
- Tap + Add to my request on each contractor (it changes to ✓ In my request). Or tap Add everyone who serves my area.
- A bar at the bottom counts them. Tap Request quotes →. You can clear the list.
Steps: answer the brief
The wizard asks one thing per screen, says why, and saves a draft to your account as you go. If you come back you are asked “Pick up where you left off?”
The short path has seven steps: Contractors, What, Describe, Property, Budget & timing, Contact, Review. Choosing to add more detail brings back Design, The site, Details and Priorities.
- What: pick services such as Landscape design, Planting, Mulch & stone, Lawn installation, Patios & walkways, Retaining walls, Landscape lighting, Fencing, Drainage & grading, Tree work, Lawn care, Irrigation.
- Property: a guided capture: address, bird’s-eye view, then photos of the front, left side, right side, back, structures and existing plants. Aerial photos cover US addresses. If yours is missing, skip it; the contractor will measure on site.
- Contact: a mobile number is required (10 digits).
- Review: a completeness score and a list of what is still missing. Tick the consent box to share your name, phone, email, address, photos and request with those contractors, then tap Send to N contractors.
After you send
Each contractor gets your full brief. They can message you, book a visit and send a quote. You get an alert for each, and everything shows in Messages and My Projects. A list shows who it was not sent to and why.
Tips
- A more complete brief means fewer phone calls.
- Sending is limited per day (20 requests).
If something goes wrong
- “Add at least one contractor (step 1).” Your list was empty.
- “Tick the box to confirm the contractors may see your details.” Required consent.
- “Add a phone number so contractors can reach you.” The Contact step needs 10 digits.
