Designer: Crop, straighten and Adjust controls

Every control for Crop & straighten (angle, perspective, crop box, ratios) and for the Adjust sliders and presets.

You find these in the Designer: tap Photo setup in the tool bar, then Crop or Adjust. Crop opens a dialog straight away. Anyone using the Designer can use both.

Crop & straighten makes a new view, so your original stays untouched. Adjust changes light, color and detail without baking anything into the photo, so you can reset at any time. The dialog title is “Crop, rotate & perspective”.

Before you start

  • Open a design with a photo. Bird’s-eye views have little reason to be cropped this way.

Steps

  1. Tap Photo setup, then Crop. In the dialog set Straighten until the horizon is level.
  2. Use Vertical perspective (leaning walls) until house corners are straight.
  3. Open Crop, choose a shape chip if you need one, and set the four crop sliders or the pixel boxes.
  4. Press Make a new view. Check the new tab above the picture.
  5. Back in Photo setup tap Adjust. Try a preset chip first.
  6. Open the Light, Color and Detail groups and fine-tune.
  7. Hold Hold to see original to check the effect. Use Reset all to start over.
  8. The Designer saves for you. Adjustments are stored with the view, not baked into the photo.

Tips

  • Straighten and fix perspective before you set the scale. A new view keeps its own scale, so check it.
  • Small moves look better than big ones: stay under about 30 on most sliders.

If something goes wrong

  • The crop sliders fight each other. A locked shape chip (not Free) forces the other side to follow. Choose Free.
  • My plants moved after cropping. They move with the photo into the new view by design. Check the scale chip.
  • Adjust looks different when I save a picture. Saved pictures include the adjustment; use Hold to see original to compare.
