How community moderation actions work
A plain list of every Community action, what changes behind it and what members see.
This article explains the three post and comment states and what each Community button does. Screen: Settings → VisionScaper Community.
The three states
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| live | Visible to members. |
| hidden | Pulled from view, shown in Needs review. |
| removed | Pulled and its reports closed. Not listed in Latest posts. |
Buttons and their effect
| Button | Result |
|---|---|
| Keep (it’s fine) / Restore | Status live, reports 0, reports marked done. |
| Hide | Status hidden. |
| Remove | Status removed, reports marked done. |
| Ban / Ban member | Member flagged banned; their live posts become hidden. |
| Unban | Flag removed; posts stay hidden. |
| Give points | Adds points and notifies the member. |
Steps
- Decide whether the item is fine, doubtful or against your rules.
- Fine: Keep. Doubtful: Hide. Against the rules: Remove.
- Repeat offenders: Ban.
Tips
- Remove and Ban ask for confirmation; Keep, Hide and Restore do not.
- Administrators cannot be banned.
If something goes wrong
- Whether a removed item can be brought back through the screen is not available: Latest posts hides removed items (not verified further in code).
