Settings → Connected apps: Request form, self-booking and spam protection

Field-by-field guide to the Request form for your website card: on switch, services, photos, self-booking and Turnstile.

Where to find it: Contractor Hub → Settings & Integrations → Settings → group Messages and connections → tab 🔌 Connected apps, card Request form for your website. Owner screen.

What it controls: a form you put on your own website. A visitor fills it in. VisionScaper makes a lead (it never merges with an existing customer by itself), sends the customer an instant reply and alerts your office. The card says it is OFF until you tick it. Nothing on this card is switched on just because the page opened.

Before you start

  • Your services come from your service templates. Set them up first (Services). If a service is missing from the list, add it there.
  • Self-booking uses the working hours, time off and booked visits of the people you tick. Set those up first. See settings-crew-list-private-notes-and-working-hours.
  • Turnstile needs your own free Cloudflare account. Follow Cloudflare’s current instructions to get a site key and secret key.
  • Your own questions for the form are on the Intake questions tab. See settings-intake-questions.

Fields

Field (exact label) What it does for VisionScaper What to enter and example Default / notes
Turn the request form on Master switch. Off means the form does not accept requests. Tick to turn on. Off
Services offered (one checkbox per service template) Services visitors can choose. Unticked services are not offered. If you leave none ticked, the save does not send a list and your earlier list stays. Tick your services. The services already switched on stay ticked.
Photos allowed (0 = none) How many photos a visitor may attach. Saved between 0 and 10. 5 5
Let visitors pick a time. The Hub works out open times from your crew's hours, time off and booked visits; it stays a request until you confirm it. (checkbox under Self-booking (optional)) Adds a time picker to the form. The time is a request until you confirm it. Tick to turn on. Off
Confirm picked times automatically (off is safer) When on, the picked time is confirmed without you. Leave off while you test. Off
Visit length (minutes) How long each visit slot is. Saved between 15 and 240. 60 60
“Who can be booked:” (one checkbox per person) Only ticked people get bookable times. Tick the people who take visits. None ticked until you choose.
Use Cloudflare Turnstile (under Spam protection) Adds Cloudflare’s check to the form. It needs both keys below. Tick only if you see spam. Off
Turnstile site key The public key from Cloudflare. Only letters, numbers, - and _ are kept. Paste it. Blank
Turnstile secret key The private key. Stored, never shown again. Leave blank to keep the saved one. Paste it. Placeholder “Secret saved (leave blank to keep)” once saved.
Save Saves everything on this card. Refused with “Cloudflare Turnstile needs both a site key and a secret key.” if Turnstile is ticked and a key is missing. Click once. Toast “Saved.”

Settings the code keeps but this screen does not show: the largest file size per photo (default 5 MB), the earliest booking lead time (default 24 hours) and how many days ahead people may book (default 14). They have no inputs here.

Spam protection that is always on

“Always on: a hidden trap field, a minimum fill-in time and a limit per address.” Turnstile is an extra. Cloudflare lists it as free (up to 20 widgets, unlimited challenges), but you need your own Cloudflare account and visitors’ browsers contact Cloudflare when the form loads. Leave it off unless you see spam.

Put it on your website (three read-only boxes)

Click a box to select its text.

Box (exact label) What it holds How to use it
“Shortcode (WordPress page):” [dreamscaper_request pro="…"] with your number Paste into a WordPress page or post.
“Or paste this one line anywhere:” A one-line script tag Paste into any page’s HTML.
“Or link to the form page:” A direct web address to the form Use as a link or button target.

The consent box on the form is not ticked for the visitor and is not marketing consent. It is stored with its wording and the time so you can show what they agreed to.

Steps

  1. Open 🔌 Connected apps and find Request form for your website.
  2. Tick the services to offer. Set Photos allowed.
  3. If you want online booking, tick the self-booking checkbox, set Visit length (minutes) and tick who can be booked. Leave auto-confirm off at first.
  4. Leave Turnstile off unless you get spam.
  5. Tick Turn the request form on, then click Save.
  6. Copy the shortcode, the one-line script or the page link into your website.
  7. Submit a test request from your own site and check your Inbox.

Tips

  • Keep Confirm picked times automatically off until you trust the open times shown.
  • A request made through the form shows up as a lead in your list.

If something goes wrong

  • The form shows nothing on your site: check that the form is switched on and that you saved.
  • “Cloudflare Turnstile needs both a site key and a secret key”: add the missing key or untick Turnstile.
  • No times offered: check that people are ticked under “Who can be booked” and that their hours, time off and booked visits leave open time. (Exactly when the form hides the picker was not traced in code.)
