Put the request form on your website and stop spam

Turn on the request form, embed it with a shortcode or one line, and use built-in spam traps and optional Turnstile.

The request form is a form customers fill in on your site. It creates a new lead, sends the customer an instant reply and alerts your office. It is OFF until you tick it.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations and find Request form for your website.
  2. Tick Turn the request form on.
  3. Under Services offered, tick the services (from your service templates) people can ask for.
  4. Set Photos allowed (0 = none, up to 10).
  5. Optional Self-booking: tick Let visitors pick a time. The Hub works out open times from crew hours, time off and booked visits. A pick stays a request until you confirm it. Set Visit length (minutes) (15 to 240) and who can be booked. Confirm picked times automatically is off by default and off is safer.
  6. Click Save.

Put it on your website

You get three ways:

Way What to do
Shortcode Paste the shortcode shown on screen into a WordPress page
One line Paste the single <script> line shown anywhere. It places a framed form that resizes itself
Link Link to the form page shown. It is a plain page with no indexing

Copy the text exactly as the screen shows it.

What the form does

  • It creates a new lead every time. It never merges with an existing customer by itself, and lists possible matches for your office.
  • Retried submissions return the first result, so there are no duplicates.
  • The consent box is NOT ticked for the visitor and is not marketing consent. The wording and time are stored so you can show what they agreed to. The line asks permission to text and/or email about this request and mentions STOP.

Spam protection

Always on:

  • A hidden trap field (honeypot).
  • A signed form token with a minimum and maximum age. Sending in under 3 seconds shows “That was very quick. Please wait a moment and send it again.” A form open more than 4 hours asks to reload.
  • A limit of 6 requests an hour per address.

Optional: Cloudflare Turnstile.

  1. Create your own Cloudflare account and a Turnstile widget. Follow Cloudflare’s current instructions. Cloudflare lists Turnstile as free (up to 20 widgets, unlimited challenges).
  2. In Spam protection, tick Use Cloudflare Turnstile.
  3. Paste the Turnstile site key and Turnstile secret key.
  4. Click Save. Turning Turnstile on without both keys is refused.

Visitors’ browsers contact Cloudflare when the form loads. Leave it off unless you see spam.

Tips

  • Test the form yourself from a phone and check the alert and the reply.
  • If real people are blocked, check the 6 per hour address limit (shared networks).

If something goes wrong

  • The page returns a 404: the form is off. Turn it on.
  • “Please reload the page and try again”: the form token expired or is missing. Reload.
