Library packs and the Materials pack
Site owners install photo and material packs in WordPress so the Designer shows real plant photos and more ground materials.
Packs are zip files that add real photos and ground materials to the Designer. Only the site owner installs them, in WordPress.
What is in the box
- The readme says the Designer ships with 121 drawn ground materials and that the Materials pack adds 839 photo-scanned ones. Counts can change between versions.
- Packs load only when a customer uses an item, so your pages stay fast.
- Material groups: Mulch, Stone & Gravel, Soil & Sand, Lawn & Groundcover, Pavers, Natural Stone, Tile & Marble, Wood & Decking, Decking & Surfaces.
- A pack holds a
photos/folder (plant and feature cut-outs, named likeid.webporid.fall.webp), amaterials/folder (images plusmaterials.json), or both.
Steps: install a pack
- In WordPress go to Settings → VisionScaper.
- Scroll to Library packs.
- Choose your file (the file box accepts .zip, .tar, .tgz and .gz) and press Install pack. Install one file at a time.
- The page then reads “Installed now: N ground materials (textures) · N library plants & features with real photos”.
- Clear your page cache, then refresh the Designer.
Steps: add photos for one item
- In the Designer, make the item with Add my own item and link it to a library plant (see Add your own item). Open it with the pencil button and press Download for website (shown to site owners).
- In Settings → VisionScaper, find Library photos. Choose the downloaded file (names are the library ID, for example hydrangea.webp) and press Upload photos. Seasonal pictures end in .fall.webp or .winter.webp. Use transparent WebP or PNG under 3 MB.
- If you copied photos in by FTP instead, press Rebuild photo list once.
- The page lists your photo files, with a Find box. Tick any file and press Upload photos to delete it.
Tips
- Keep a copy of the original zip.
- Large packs may exceed your host’s upload limit. Ask the host to raise the limit to 64 MB, or install by FTP into wp-content/uploads/dreamscaper-photos (the screen’s own advice).
- Installed materials appear in the Mulch, stone & lawn tab of the Add tool (key B) after a page refresh. See Paint ground materials.
- The Settings page also warns: if you use a page-cache plugin, clear its cache once after installing.
- The Settings page is under WordPress Settings, VisionScaper. You need an administrator account (not verified beyond the menu rule).
If something goes wrong
- Upload fails right away: the upload limit is too small. Use the FTP route.
- A photo is skipped: the screen lists skipped names and reminds you to use names like hydrangea.webp, under 3 MB.
- New photos do not show: clear page cache and hard refresh; then check the Installed now line.
- The count did not change: check the folder names are exactly photos/ and materials/.
