Marketing safety checks, sending limits and usage

The checks every message passes, your sending limits and hours, and how to see usage and add extra message packs.

Every marketing message goes through one send queue. The rules are checked again at the moment of sending. A message that breaks a rule waits and goes out when it is allowed.

What VisionScaper checks

  • Marketing is not paused, and the site kill switch is off.
  • The person has not opted out (a text STOP ends all marketing; an email unsubscribe ends email).
  • Texting is approved, if the site requires “Get ready to text”.
  • The sender passed the email check, if the site requires it.
  • Consent exists for marketing texts (and email, if you turned that on).
  • The site’s monthly cap and your plan allowance are not used up.
  • Your frequency limits, sending window and quiet hours.

When a message is held, the reason is in plain words, such as “They asked not to be contacted”.

Set your limits

Go to Marketing → Settings → 🛡️ Limits & sending hours.

Setting Code default
At most N marketing messages per customer per week 1
… per month 4
At least N hours between marketing messages to the same customer 48
Send at most N messages a day in total (0 = no limit) 200
Marketing goes out on (days) Mon to Sat
Between (hours) 9 am to 7 pm
Never text customers between … and … set to your quiet hours
A customer is “inactive” after N months 12
Credit a booked job to marketing sent within N days 30

A message that would break a limit waits until it is allowed. It is dropped after two weeks. 0 means no limit.

Texts: hours and state limits

Go to Marketing → Safety → 🕗 Sending rules.

  1. Set Texts go out between two hours. The code default is 8 am to 9 pm. Hours are judged by where the customer lives, not where you are.
  2. Set At most N marketing texts per customer per day (0 means no limit of your own).
  3. Under Limits by state, you see the built-in one: Florida allows no more than 3 marketing texts in 24 hours. To add your own, type the two-letter state and a number, then click Add a state limit.
  4. Tick Require email consent too if you want marketing email to go only to people whose email consent is on file. Off means email goes to customers until they unsubscribe.
  5. Click Save sending rules.

A reply to something a customer just sent is not held by quiet hours.

Pause

Pause ALL marketing in Settings stops campaigns, automations, review requests and AI replies. Essential messages still send.

Usage and extra message packs

Your plan may include a number of marketing texts and emails each month. VisionScaper counts them.

  1. Go to Marketing → Safety → 📊 Usage and extra messages.
  2. Read the meters for Texts and Emails, such as “N used this month”, with a bar. A plan with no limit reads “unlimited”.
  3. If packs are offered, Need more? appears. Click a pack to pay through the site’s payment provider. The messages are added once, are “used after the ones in your plan, and don’t expire.”

Only marketing messages count toward the plan allowance. The meter counts sent, delivered and sending messages since the first of the month (UTC). If the site has not connected payments you see “Buying message packs isn’t available yet. Ask the site administrator.”

At the site’s monthly cap, sends stop with “The monthly limit for texts has been reached” (or emails). The administrator sets caps, costs, margin and packs in Settings → VisionScaper Messaging. Those values (cost, margin, pack sizes and prices) are placeholders, not approved. Settings → VisionScaper Marketing → Costs & limits holds Cost per text segment, Cost per email (used for campaign ROI) and Messages per 5-minute run.

Tips

  • Rules in code are starting points, not legal advice. Check the rules where your customers live.
  • Raise limits slowly. More messages can mean more unsubscribes.

If something goes wrong

  • A text sits “Waiting until morning where they live”: the customer’s time zone says it’s outside your hours.
  • “Already got 3 marketing texts in 24 hours (limit for FL)”: a state or daily limit held it. It goes later.
