Win/loss tracking and the close-rate report

Record why deals are lost on the Sales board and read close rates by lead source for the last 90 days.

VisionScaper tracks wins and losses from the records you already keep. A win is a signed quote. A loss is a declined or expired quote, or a customer marked lost. The report sits at the top of the Sales board.

The report

It reads: “Last 90 days: N% of finished deals won”. Under it:

  • A line with won, lost, open, and the dollar total signed.
  • A row for each lead source: deals, won, lost and close rate, with the signed revenue on the right.

Finished deals are the won plus the lost. Open deals are not counted in the rate. The report needs the right to see money. If you do not have it, the board still works but the report is missing.

Record why a deal was lost

  1. Open the Sales board.
  2. Tap a card in Lead or Quoted.
  3. Type the reason in Why was it lost? (required).
  4. Tap Mark lost.

The reason is kept and shown on the card later as “Lost: reason”. A history row and a line on the customer record the move. Nothing is deleted.

When a customer declines from their proposal page, they can give a reason. You get it in your alert and it is added to the customer history as “Customer declined: reason”.

Reopen a deal

Tap the card in Lost, then Reopen as a lead.

What gets counted

Event Counts as
Customer signs Won, with the signed total
Customer declines Lost
Quote expires Lost
You mark a lead or quoted deal lost Lost, with your reason
A lost deal is reopened Back to open

Using the report

  1. Look at close rate by source. If one source brings many deals and few wins, ask why.
  2. Read your lost reasons. If many say “price”, review your markups. If “no reply”, review your follow-up plan.
  3. Compare sources by revenue, not only by count.

Fill in How they found you on every customer. A deal with no source shows as “unknown source”.

Tips

  • Use the same few words for reasons so you can count them.
  • Check the report monthly.
  • The odds shown on a card are an estimate the board works out. How they are calculated was not verified in code.

If something goes wrong

  • The report says nothing. There may be no finished deals in the window.
  • A card cannot be moved. The board only supports Lost and Reopen. Other moves happen elsewhere.
  • Old deals still count as open. Declined or expired quotes land in Lost on their own.
