Outside lead sources (Angi, Thumbtack, Google Local Services)
Bring requests from Angi, Thumbtack and Google into your customers without doubles, using a secret address or by pasting the email.
The screen is called Request sources. It sits in the Customers & Sales group, right after the Inbox. It needs a plan that includes it. Which plan is a placeholder, not approved. If your plan does not include it you see a message and a See plans button.
Warning: The email and message layouts VisionScaper reads are based on typical notification layouts. They have not been checked against live emails from Angi, Thumbtack or Google. The screen says so too. When something is missing, the lead is still saved and marked “needs review”.
How it works
There are three ways in:
- A secret address for each source. Each source (Angi, Thumbtack, Google Local Services, Other source) has its own private web address.
- Paste the email. The page has a box for pasting a whole request email.
- A forwarding service. VisionScaper does not read a mailbox for you. If you want emails to arrive on their own, use a mail-forwarding service that posts to your secret address. Set that up with the service’s own current instructions.
New requests become customers marked as new requests. Matching uses email or phone, never the name alone, so a repeat lead fills in the existing customer instead of making a second.
Steps: paste a request email
- Open Request sources.
- In Paste a request email, pick Which service sent it?
- Paste the whole email into The email.
- Tap Check it. A preview lists name, phone, email, address, service and message, and tells you if it would match an existing customer. Nothing is added yet.
- If it looks right, tap Add this request.
Steps: use the secret address
- On a source card, tap Copy address.
- Paste it into your forwarding service as the place to send new leads.
- Tap Test with a sample. It shows a sample and what was read. Nothing was added.
- Watch Recent requests. New ones show a badge such as “New from Angi”. Tap Mark seen, or Mark all seen.
Other buttons on a source card
- Make a new address: the old address stops working right away. Do this if it leaked.
- Turn off / Turn on: pause a source.
- Open customer: jumps to the lead.
- Try again: for a request held because of a plan limit.
Tips
- Keep the address private. Anyone who has it can post leads.
- The raw message is kept for 90 days, then deleted. The customer stays.
- A request seen twice is counted once (“Sent twice, counted once”).
If something goes wrong
- “Needs review: missing phone”. Open the customer and fill it in.
- Status “Not added yet (plan limit)”. Your plan’s limit was reached. Use Try again after it resets or changes.
- Nothing arrives. Check the forwarding service. VisionScaper only receives what is posted to the address.
