Photos and documents on jobs: take, share and mark up
Add before, progress and after photos, share chosen ones with the customer, mark them up and require them to finish.
Photos protect you if a question comes up later. Add them from the phone on each job.
Where to find it
Open a job in My work (or from Field work) and expand 📷 Photos & documents.
Steps: add photos
- Choose a Type chip: Before, Progress, After, Damage, Material delivery, Document or Other. The default starts as Before for a scheduled job, After for a finished one, and Progress otherwise.
- Tap 📷 Take photo, or 🖼️ Choose photos / PDF.
- A progress bar shows. Large photos are shrunk on the phone to save data (JPEG, up to 2048 pixels on the long side).
A file over 15 MB is refused. Without signal, the photo is saved on the phone and uploads later.
Share with the customer
Each photo has a tick box, Customer can see. Only people with the right to share job photos see it. The timeline records “Shared with the customer” or “Unshared”.
Mark up a photo
- Tap Mark up on a photo (not available for HEIC files or cancelled jobs).
- Choose ↗ Arrow, ◯ Circle or T Note, and a color. Use Undo to remove the last mark.
- Tap Save as a new photo. The original is never changed.
Remove
A permitted person can remove a file after a confirmation, “Remove this file from the job?”.
Require photos to finish
In Field work → Settings → Jobs, tick:
– A “before” photo is required to finish a job
– An “after” photo is required to finish a job
Checklist items can also require a photo.
Finished photos on the quote
On the quote’s Job card, Finished photos with Add photo feeds an optional public showcase.
Tips
- Take the before photo at arrival, before touching anything.
- Add a caption to explain what the photo shows.
If something goes wrong
- “Over 15 MB.” Take it again at lower quality or use a PDF.
- Upload stuck. Tap the “to send” pill when you are online.
