API keys and services checklist
A step-by-step checklist of every key, token and outside account VisionScaper can use, and the exact screen where each one goes.
On this page
VisionScaper works out of the box for basic design. Most extras need a key from an outside company. You only need the keys for the features you want. This checklist shows where each one goes.
Before you start
- You need a WordPress administrator login for the website where VisionScaper is installed.
- Use
https://on your live site. Several providers refuse plainhttp://addresses. - Provider screens change often. Follow each provider’s current instructions to get a key. This manual only tells you where to paste it in VisionScaper.
- Prices and allowances shown inside VisionScaper settings are placeholders until you approve your own. Check each provider’s current pricing yourself.
Steps
Open WordPress admin → Settings → VisionScaper for items 1 to 10.
- Basics. Fill in Business name, Short name, Website and “Send designs and leads to”.
- Google Maps API key (optional). Gives Google address autocomplete and “Explore in 3D”. See Google Maps keys.
- Google server key for the Route planner (optional). See Google Maps keys.
- Google Client ID and Client secret (optional). For “Sign in with Google”. See Google sign-in.
- Facebook App ID and App secret (optional). See Facebook sign-in.

Then visit the other admin pages under Settings:

- Expo access token (optional, back on the VisionScaper page). See Expo access token.
Contractors set these up themselves inside the Contractor Hub, under Settings → Connected apps:
- QuickBooks Online. See QuickBooks connect.
- Xero. See Xero connect.
- Google Contacts. See Google Contacts and calendar.
- Zapier and API keys. See Connect other tools overview.
Tips
- Secret boxes show dots after you save. Leave the dots to keep the saved value. Type a new value to replace it.
- Do one service at a time and test it before moving on.
- Keep a private list of which account each key belongs to, so you can revoke it later.
- Never paste a secret key into a page, an email or a chat.
If something goes wrong
- A feature still looks greyed out: it usually means its key is missing or was pasted with a space. Paste again.
- A signed-out visitor sees AI tools greyed out by design. AI features need a signed-in customer.
- Scheduled things such as reminders and syncs rely on WordPress cron. See Cron, caching, SSL and REST troubleshooting.
