Designer: Add my own item and Plant ID fields

Every control for turning a photo into a library item: cut-out tools, naming, linking to a library plant, size, and Plant ID.

You find these in the Designer: Add → Plants & things → Filters and more tools, then Add my own item (photograph it, or cut it out of a photo you already have) or Plant ID. They also open from the home screen. Items are saved in My Library in your account (or on this device if you are not signed in). Finding things by name and Plant ID ask you to sign in (free).

The Add my own item window has three steps (photo, cut-out, details). Background: add your own item from a photo and Plant ID.

Before you start

  • A clear photo: step back so the whole thing fits, shoot from the side at about waist height, plain background if you can.
  • Check your storage if you are signed in; saving uses account storage (storage packs).

Tips

  • Linking to a real plant is worth the extra tap: it then grows, blooms and changes with the seasons.

If something goes wrong

  • “Nothing is selected yet”. Brush over the subject with Keep or draw a Box first.
  • Find it says it is not switched on. Drag a box around the thing instead.
  • I cannot save. Your browser storage or account storage may be full; delete old items or get more storage.
